Frequently Asked Questions
Feral Hog Trapping:

Q. How long does it take for you to get started?

A. Given we are not already committed to another client, we will be at your property and ready to go within 48 hours of booking. Otherwise, we will be onsite during the morning of your first scheduled date. DRKG Wildlife Control does everything in its power to try to get to each property as soon as possible while feral hogs are on your property in an effort to minimize the damage they can cause if left alone.

Q. How many Hogs can you remove within the 48 hr (minimum time requirement to book) timeline?

A. It all depends on how extensive the feral hog problem is on your property. DRKG technicians will do an initial assessment of your property to determine the scope and scale of the problem and will come up with an action plan to remove the highest possible amount of feral hogs as fast as we possibly can. Sometimes a small sounder may only have 8-10 hogs and some have 30-40 hogs, sounder size will determine the effort required to make the biggest impact on your property. We generally start the job with one trap erected in the hopes of concentrating the entire sounder in one location, however, we may employ additional traps if the scale of the job requires it.

Q. Does DRKG Wildlife Control use Hog Dogs like on TV and Social Media?

A. Occasionally we will utilize trained Wild Hog Hunting Dogs and have the ability to employ this tactic, however, it is not a very effective method to remove large numbers of hogs from affected property and agricultural operations. Furthermore, while we at DRKG Wildlife Control utilize working dogs on a daily basis recreationally and for work purposes, this method of take is not discreet and can sometimes lead to negative public facing criticism, as such, we rely heavily on the use of humane and efficient traps and pens which allow us to effectively remove as many feral hogs as possible within a short period of time. Furthermore, the use of hog dogs will most likely push the majority of the sounder to another property, which passes on the problem to the next landowner and leaves the likely possibility of feral hogs returning to your property. If we are wrapping up a feral hog removal job, we may use trained hog hunting dogs as an extra mitigation attempt to break up the remnants of a sounder, but rarely do unless specifically requested from the landowner.

Q. If you catch a lot of Feral Hogs can you give us a deal?

A. The goal is to harvests as many hogs as possible. The harvest fee is negotiable depending on different elements of the feral hog removal job. We want to work with each client as much as we possibly can however the expenses incurred while baiting, traveling to and from your property, accommodations while trapping, etc., starts adding up very quickly, and as such, DRKG Wildlife Control pricing on feral hog removal is firm. We believe that we offer a competitive price within our target areas of California and Oregon and bring years of expertise to each job we undertake. Our primary objective is to help you maintain the integrity of your land and crops and reduce populations of invasive wildlife which have a negative impact on agricultural economies and ecosystem health.

Q. What do you do with the Feral Hogs once they are harvested?

A. Once we harvest a feral hog(s), we immediately begin to care for the meat. We will skin and quarter each hog and get them in a cooler as fast as possible to ensure the meat is cooled quickly and prepared for processing. If you would like the meat from the hogs that are harvested on your property that is 100% ok with us. We fill the freezers of our family and friends as well as donate a substantial amount of meat to local food banks and shelters. However you would like to see the meat distributed is up to you!
